What Are the Types of International Passports?
The different types of international passports are explained as follows:
Ordinary Passport
Typically valid for 10 years, this passport is issued to citizens of a country and grants permission for international travel. It is also called a regular or tourist passport.
ePassport
Known in full as electronic passport, this type of passport is a regular passport booklet containing an electronic chip in the cover, which holds the passport holder’s info and also offers an added layer of security against passport fraud.
Collective Passport
This is passport given to a group, like tour groups or school children, who are travelling together to a country overseas.
Official passport
An official passport is issued to government employees, allowing officials in the destination country be aware that the passport holder is coming into the country on official business or is serving as a representative of their home country in an official capacity.
Temporary passport
Also called an emergency passport, this is a type of passport issued when your passport has got lost or stolen and you’ve time constraint in applying for a new one.
